After several months of waiting... and waiting... and anticipating... Ramsey Kent is finally here!
Born on Friday, January 24th, 2014 at 3:15 AM, Ramsey weighed 7 lbs 6.2 oz and measured 18" long. He was born with tons of dark brown hair and big grey-blue eyes.
For the majority of the time prior to the birth, Eric was my caretaker and support. Mom was in the waiting room early on (too many people in the room at once) but was in the delivery room for the birth.
Ramsey was a strong little shaver, right out of the gate. Immediately after he was born, he grabbed my I.V. tubes with his "super grip". When he was taking his first bath later that day, he held his head up and looked all around when the nurse put him on his tummy.
Ramsey had lots of visitors after he was born; Nana Vicki & Bumpa, Auntie Sarah & Uncle Troy, Cousins Sadie & Isaac, Auntie Peggy & Uncle Lance, Kevin & Shana, and of course "Big Brubby" Connor.
We got some lovely presents too; flowers from Daddy & Connor and some from Nana Vicki & Bumpa; a balloon from Lance & Peggy; a musical Precious Moments, picture frame, and flowers from Shana & Kevin; an outfit from Nana Karen; and a warm sea green hand-knitted sweater that Auntie Sarah made. The hospital sent us home with a handmade light blue and white chevron-patterned afghan too.
We were supposed to stay in the hospital until Sunday, but a blizzard was coming through, so we bolted and went home on Saturday afternoon. Puppy Riggs was sure glad, as he had to be in his kennel quite a bit while we were gone.
