CHOO CHOO! RamseyTurns TWO!

What?  It can't be?!  Ramsey?  Turning... TWO?   Yup, once again, I will say it.... time flies!   Our little Doodlebug is growing up so quickly!

Favorites:
Foods: Peanut butter (on EVERYTHING - to include meat and fish!), chicken Alfredo pizza, yogurt (any kind), pudding, toast, french fries, grilled cheese sandwiches, smoothies, chocolate, and fruit/veggie "on-the-go" packs.
Things to Do:  Play "Chase" with anyone who will oblige (to include the dog), BATH TIME, play his Kindle (he's been a whiz on it for more than six months, completing puzzles, finding videos, playing games, etc!), and use Riggsy as a bench while playing toys on his new train table.
TV Shows: Thomas & Friends, Paw Patrol, Bob the Builder, Lego Star Wars, Star Wars parodies on You Tube.
Movies:  Monsters vs. Aliens, Monsters Inc, Monsters University (see a trend here?!)
Toys: Star Wars figures, Paw Patrol toys, Thomas the Train (and friends) and his wooden railway set, matchbox cars
Music:  Ramsey loves most every type of music.  He still adores barbershop and anything that has a good beat.  We watch a lot of Star Wars-themed musical riffs on YouTube which he dances to and watches attentively.  He points and claps when Darth Vader "sings".

Notables:
Talking:  Ramsey doesn't use a lot of words yet (he sounds out many of the first letters of a word), but says "nigh nigh" before bed, "Da" and "Mum-ma" with frequency.  He signs "more", "all done", and "out", while we're working on word pronunciation and sounds.
On the day of his birthday, he said the word "more", not just the "mmm" sound. Daddy coaxed that out of him when he wanted more Star Wars music to play.
Identifying Things:  Ramsey can point to tell you who all of the Star Wars characters and Muppets are, plus a myriad of animals, vehicles, shapes, and colors.
Here's a video of his Star Wars bath, the morning of his birthday:

Showing Off:  This kid is a HAM and keeps us constantly in stitches with the crazy funny things he does!  And, the more we laugh, the more he shows off.
A Rightie or a Leftie?:  ...still not sure on this one. He's still ambidextrous and uses both hands fluently.

Stats:
Height:  32.5"
Weight:  26 lbs.
Number of Teeth: 16

We planned a small family-only party for Ramsey's second birthday with a Thomas the Train theme. He was all duded up in his new outfit that Nana and Bumpa gave him for Christmas.
Before everyone arrived, Ramsey and Daddy hung out, watching Star Wars videos on YouTube.  Ramsey tapped his hand to the beat of the songs while hugging his stuffed Darth Vader.
He is....obsessed.... with Darth Vader!  (He hugs and kisses his Darth Vader dolls/figures.)
His cake:
Let's say that I learned a few lessons the hard way about piping icing (don't ever do it! Stick with straight-up frosting.).  :-)
In attendance:  Nana Vicki and Bumpa, Uncle Cory, Nana Karen, Auntie Sarah & Uncle Troy, and Sadie & Isaac.
It is safe to say that Isaac will provide some comedy when he's around!  Blowing party favors with your nose is a fun talent!!
Little Birthday Boy wouldn't wear his hat this year.  :-)

After lunch, it was present-opening time!
Ramsey received a lot of wonderful presents!  He was given money from Nana K and Great Aunt Nancy to add to his savings account (Nana Karen set one up for him), fun trucks and rescue vehicles (from Nana & Bumpa, Nana Karen, and the Bliese family), a police helicopter (from us), pajamas and clothes (from Grandpa Orin & Judi and Nana & Bumpa), Melissa & Doug learning puzzles (from Auntie Sarah & Uncle Troy and the kids), match box cars (from us and more from Nana & Bumpa), a 2016 coin set (from Grandpa Mike)....
a hand-carved bunny that Bumpa made.....
and a Thomas the Train play tent from Uncle Cory.
The kids all piled into the train until it got "too hot" and they all came storming out!  :-)
What a lucky little guy, getting SO MANY great gifts!

Birthday cake time!

While we sang the Happy Birthday song to him, he was reaching for his Thomas the Train.  Watch out for the candle!!!
Ramsey went in for a HUGE piece of cake and stuffed [as much as he could] into his mouth.

And alas, all good things must come to an end and everyone had to drive back home.

After everyone left, we hung out for a while, watching football and playing with all of the wonderful toys.
Eric had given Ramsey another 31" Star Wars figure (Kylo Ren) to go with his other two.
Ramsey was having fun hiding behind his big buddies.
Big Brubby Connor and Ramsey had some play time on the floor.

And in the air!
Happy Birthday, Dear Ramsey.  We love you!
