Connor's Fall Musical Concert

Connor has acclimated to his new public school environment very well.  Last night, we went to watch him and his fellow middle-school classmates perform at the annual Fall concert.  It was a "dark and spooky" theme for Halloween, with many musical pieces such as The Addams Family, that fit right into the guise.

Many of the kids dressed up in their Halloween costumes.  Connor went in all-black and had a fun little mustache.  (...might be a good look for him when he's older!)

Connor plays in the "first chair" French horn position this year in the 7th Grade Band (he's really improving and doing well!).  The 6th Grade Band, the orchestras, and choir all performed and sounded great.

One of the band's pieces was called "Pirates of the Barnaby Coast".   For weeks, the kids had put a fun little spin on the theme song, made up a little story that eventually evolved into a play.  They performed their play, calling it "Peanut Butter Pirates of the Buttery Toast".  It was a clever and entertaining saga of bagels, toast, and peanut butter, duking it out!  Connor played a battling bagel (but was defeated).  I wish we could have gotten a better/closer picture of him in his costumer!  Argh!

GREAT JOB CONNOR!!!

While the bands and orchestras played and the choir sang, Ramsey sat on Nana's and Bumpa's laps so nicely.  He's a music-lover by nature and enjoyed the show.

Maybe he'll be the third Duven to be a rockin' French horn player...!?!
