Another Proud Angler Bluegill

It's Bluegill "season" again, as they're in the more shallow waters, spawning.   We haven't had quite the weed line that we had a few years ago (when we literally couldn't keep a line in the water!), but we've caught some nice fish this year on the lake.

Last night, Eric caught a monster of a bluegill.  Admittedly, I was going bananas over this big fatty and couldn't believe what a whopper he was!  lol   For a chick, it's odd to get that excited about a fish.

When he catches one that he feels is remarkable in size, he compares it to Connor's mega bluegill that's mounted on our "fish wall" (er - make that one of our fish walls).  Typically, those fish are dinky in comparison.  This one, however, was not!
Above is a picture of a "normal/nice size" bluegill on this lake and Eric's dude.

Measuring in at 10 1/2", this dude would be eligible to hold the title of a South Dakota Proud Angler!  But, since already have a stuffed one on the wall, Mr. Bluegill is going to be supper sometime in the near future.  (Thank you Mr. B.)
Eric laughed that he could actually "thumb" this bluegill.  The idea of this with a normal bluegill is ridiculous, especially with Eric's ginormous mitts!
