Ramsey's First.... Food

Ramsey's had a few "firsts" that haven't been captured on film or video; rolling over for the first time, his first laugh, smile, introduction to Riggs, etc.   We had been eagerly anticipating his first bites of "real food".

At 19 weeks old, Ramsey seemed ready for food.  He has been interested in what we all eat, as of late.  For that reason, we decided to start him off with some oh-so-delicious rice cereal.
He did really well and was smiling after his first bites.  We were quite surprised, as we thought there'd be some spitting, refusals, or who knows what else going on!  He ate it like a seasoned pro and never fussed.
There were a number of times where he grabbed at the spoon and pushed it into his mouth.  He wanted to do it by himself apparently, thinking he's such a "big boy"!

He ate almost the entire bowl that we gave him.  He seemed sooo proud of himself!  His 6:00 PM feeding was so successful, that we did it again at 9:00, hoping it would help him sleep through the night again.
**Ramsey had a two week stretch where he was sleeping through the night (6-10 hours!), then his "four-month sleep regression" kicked in and he was up HOURLY, waking like a newborn.  The spoon-fed cereal did the trick last night and, after waking once around 10:30 to fuss and quickly go back to sleep, he slept until 5:00 AM!  I gave him a bottle and he dozed until 7:15.  I hope I'm not jinxing this.   :-)

Now... off to make more homemade whole foods baby chow!
