What? No Proud Angler?!?!?!

I did look, just to amuse myself and honestly, I had to double check.  Carp do not make the South Dakota Proud Angler list!  However, BULLHEADS are on the list!  What the...?! 

Much to Eric's chagrin, this picture made the blog!   As the only carp of his personal catches over the years to make it into an actual picture, I thought it was snap-worthy.  

Eric caught this beast on Sunday night.  He said he knew right away it was a carp by the way it took the hook, a ton of drag, and ran like crazy.  Nonetheless, it was fun to reel in.   After a short while, he coaxed it to the shore line (he didn't have his net on the dock) and up to the house for Ramsey and me to see. 

So, now the race is on in our family to catch the biggest fish from Richmond Lake.  Estimating this carp was about 18 pounds, it might be quite a difficult feat!

 

Maybe the next fishing post to this blog will be a super duper keeper walleye!?!?!  :-)
