Some of the 4-H clubs had made these for photo ops. I was a State Line Feeder in my day. Happy memories! :-) |
The animals in the petting zoo (Shetland ponies, baby calves, goats, miniature donkeys, and rabbits) were seemingly lethargic from the heat and not very interested in interaction.
There were times when Ramsey was more interested in the cute little girl in the area than the animals.
One little goat named Pisces got a little bit of a "Lenny treatment"; a few nice pets, but then a couple of light whacks in true Bam Bam fashion.
We moseyed over to the bunny barn to check out the various species and county fair champions. Ramsey loved it and wanted to hold one. Good thing the bunnies had refuge in their cages; I'm sure they wouldn't have wanted a Lenny Treatment. How apropos that would have been!
Last year, Ramsey liked the 4-H goats, so we visited them again. There were some adorable little "kids" among the goat population.
Before we left, we checked out a pioneer cowboy singer - who was quite good at yodeling - performing in one of the tents (ah, shade!!). Ramsey acted like he wanted to start dancing, but apparently got shy or decided against it at the last minute.
I had a nice picture of the old cowboy, but my camera ate it. :-/
Another fair gone for the year. Next year... pony rides and maybe carnival rides for Ramsey!
