Building

I have to laugh at this child.  He says and does the funniest things.

I had cut up and sanded a bunch of scrap pieces of wood in order to make a standing plant hanger.  (I obviously haven't gotten around to screwing it together and staining it JUST yet.)

I had the pieces by the front door.   Ramsey ran to them and started building.

I asked him what he was building.   He replied, "I'm building a wall!"

I told him the president would be proud to hear that.  ;-)

Storybook Land Preschool Field Trip

Bittersweet, it was - the preschool field trip to Storybook Land.  It was the "last harrah" of the year.

Luckily, we had a beautiful day (amidst the surrounding cloudy/chilly/rainy days) with sunshine and temps in the 60's!

There were a lot of parents who volunteered to go on the field trip.  We all split up and conquered.

Ramsey and I were paired up with Keagan (one of Ramsey's best buddies), his brother Greyson (he's 7 or 8), and their mom, Victoria.

We seemed to be paired up appropriately.  All of the boys are spirited and they got along like peas and carrots.  They were so excited when they entered!

 A few times, we crossed paths with the rest of the group.

 Ramsey said, "Hey Mom, I'm winking at you!"

 Greyson was such a good buddy. 

 And all of the Pre-K boys (and Greyson) were pretty stoked that they got a table all to themselves!  "The Boy Table!

 We had such an awesome time.  

So thankful for such a wonderful group of friends, teachers, and volunteers.

Happy Mother's Day!

Mother's Day... what a beautiful day!  A day for me to feel even a little more blessed for what God has given me; a wonderful family and awesome kids!   

We started off by picking up Nana Karen and going to church.

 Afterwards, we had a nice lunch at the Oasis, on the lake.

It was a nice day, so we were able to enjoy the weather and play outside.

And... we had some nice visitors.

A grossbeak showed up.

 Mr. Woodpecker joined in.

 

 Some orioles finally showed up!

At one time, we counted seven on the feeders.

We also had some threshers, a goldfinch, some sparrows, and ya, some blackbirds (grr).

Beautiful little birdies!

Another Dental Visit for Ramsicle

Ramsey's first teeth cleaning.  He sat rather well for the entire process!

I was amazed how well he stood [still] when the dental assistant gave him a panoramic x-ray.  He thought it was fun, like being in a space ship.

Next stop: the pediatric dentist, two hours away, for a treatment plan for his cavities.  Ugh!

F4 Corsair

As a part of Connor's history class, he was assigned to either interview a WWII veteran or build a model airplane of any WWII plane.  Connor chose the latter and purchased an F4 Corsair model kit.  The Corsair is known for its unique curved wings, which fold up for storage on aircraft carriers.

It was task that turned out to be a family effort.  We had fun!

Connor put it together (very tedious - Connor wasn't so sure he chose the right option! ha!), Daddy helped with the coat of blue metallic spray paint, and Connor and I worked together to apply the water-mount decals (tricky little devils!).

It turned out very cool!

Farmer Week

Just had to share a cute little pic of Ramsey from preschool.   They were learning about farming this week.
