He fished for a few hours, but what luck, all he could catch were BIG walleye! He caught a number of 23" and 24"+ walleye, but when the state regulations state that you can only catch ONE over 20" and the rest (up to three) must be 15"-20"... well, then we have a "problem".
He kept catching and releasing large walleye, so he had the opportunity to take pictures while he was fishing!
At the end of the day, he didn't catch any slot fish and came home with one 24" mama walleye, still chock full of eggs. He remarked that he would have stayed longer if Connor or I was with him; we would have had so much fun reeling in mongo-sized fish! Too bad work and school got in the way! Darn! Eric sarcastically joked that if we were in North Dakota, he could have brought home five over 20". Demographics. Hmph.
But, an afternoon of catching plentiful walleye is not a bad time and we're grateful to have the fish in the freezer for another day.
