County Fair Time

Aaaaand, it's fair week again!  Due to the #$*&!# COVID-19 virus, we missed our days at the fair, looking at exhibits, seeing the livestock, eating greasy/sugary/garbage/yummy fair food, going on carnival rides, etc.

This year... we were back!  And, we had plans to meet up with our friends Jonah and his son Charlie.

While waiting for our friends, we found funny photo opp locations.
We visited the bunny barn.
We found the Game Fish & Parks fish tank, loaded to the gills (har har) with local species of fish.
And, we had a snack.  Ramsey had ice cream, Eric had mini donuts, and I had my usual corndog.
With some time to spare, we walked to the children's "fun zone" where Ramsey pounced on the bouncy castles.
Then, we met up with Jonah and Charlie.   Charlie is 5 and going into Kindergarten.  Jonah and Eric have been friends for eons.
The next few hours was focused on kid carnival rides.
Charlie thought it was fun that our first ride was the "Charlie Chopper".
Then off to roller coasters.  This year, Ramsey wasn't a huge fan of them (he was a few years ago - guess it's sporadic!?).
There was a fun obstacle-course like "ride".  There were slides, wobby bridges, stairs, climbing nets, etc.   Charlie got hung up mid way and didn't want to go any farther (Ramsey was having so much fun, he didn't look back).  Some older kids helped me get Charlie out.  Zoinks!
Then, we came to the spinning bears; the "Bear Affair".   Eric teased Ramsey beforehand that it was the scariest ride on the midway.  It's essentially a bear version of the teacups ride.
Ramsey became leery of the ride and asked the mother and her child in the ride with them NOT to spin the bear.
Their bear was the only bear that didn't turn once during the four revolutions it made until the ride was done.   Nice, Dad!!!  ha!
And, then we came to the motorcycle ride.  Ramsey used to LOVE this ride when he was little.  Of course, his horns never worked, but he liked going around and around and "popping wheelies" nonetheless.
This time, he was rather annoyed with all of the noise.  (They were #### loud!)  Charlie, sticking up for Ramsey, would yell at the other kids who were honking their horns [the entire time].  Ramsey and Charlie both laughed about it.
Despite the motorcycles being ridiculously and obnoxiously loud, the boys went on them two more times.  So.... guess it was more fun than annoying (for them)?!?
Then, it was back to tent to scarf down an entire bucket of cheese curds.  Eric had a gut ache when he left!  ha!

To conclude.... it's confirmed (by Ramsey):  The county fair is much more fun with a buddy!  (Family is OK too.) *wink*
