What's a Kid to Do on Christmas Break???

What to do on Christmas break?  Of course, Eric and I had to work.  I did work upstairs from the kitchen counter so Ramsey could better play with some of his toys from Christmas.

Like... the R2D2 droid he got.  It can be remote-controlled from an Android device and it will also "watch" Star Wars movies with you and react to certain scenes in each of the movies.
Ramsey loves this little guy.  His favorite thing is to control him with my old phone and make him "scream" then tip over.  The kid laughs his butt off at that.
Riggs chills with his Christmas bird.
What else is there to do?  (We have to get creative for the many days 'til school starts again.)
Play with minnows in the bucket.
Play Light Sabers til you drop.... then watch Star Wars shows on TV.
(And trash the house!)
Put Star Wars guys in all of the handles on the kitchen cupboards.
GO OUTSIDE!! (When it warmed up a bit).  Gotta make snow angels.

Help Daddy drill holes for ice-fishing.
 Play chase with Mom.
 Relax!
It was quite chilly much of the time.  There were beautiful sun dogs to admire on many occasions!

Super Day for Ice Fishing

Temps were "pleasant" for December in the tundra... a non-breezy and seemingly mild 15°.... perfect for ice-fishing!

While Eric set up, Ramsey and I threw on our winter gear and trudged outside.  On the way down our hill, I was hit by views of the colorful sky.  Ah, God's beauty at work.  Amazing!
Riggsy came too and was curious about everything.  And, he loves ice, so he had to chomp on a few hunks.
Ramsey wanted to ice fish and was so excited!
They didn't catch anything right away, so his fishing experience lasted about 5 minutes.
We did slide around on the ice for quite some time and enjoyed the cool colors in the sky.

Christmas Day

Merry Christmas!!!!  and Happy Birthday, Jesus!
Christmas morning... and Santa came through, once again.
Ramsey had asked Santa for a puppy for Christmas.
Ah, that Santa is clever! ;-)
Not sure why, but Connor was avoiding picture-taking like the plague!!!!
After all of the presents were unwrapped and stockings unstuffed, we played with the loot.
Just a video that shows Ramsey playing with his new Fulcrum light saber (and BB8).
Again with the Shiatsu massager!!  ...quite a popular present with everyone.

Home for Christmas Eve

Ah, Christmas!!  The holiday we'd been frantically getting ready for, for six weeks!  Christmas concerts, Christmas shopping, Christmas activities that only come around once a year, etc.  We were happy to celebrate Jesus' birthday rather peacefully at home, with relatively nice weather (no ice or a heap of snow!)

We went to an early version of church (1 PM!) so we could hurry home to relax.  The big boys went ice-fishing and Ramsey, Nana, and I made cookies!
Later, of course we needed to get a sweet picture of the boys in front of the Christmas tree.
What I always fail to remember is how difficult that can be and what the process is.
Riggsy gets jealous if Ramsey is getting more attention from Connor.  Ramsey gets upset if Riggs' tail flaps him in the face.  And, Connor is the poor kid stuck at the bottom of the heap, the brunt of the abuse!
There were a lot of funny pictures (sorry kids - I had to laugh) with Ramsey crying, Connor wincing, the dog seeming half-terrified, etc.  ....quite a process!  Ha!
Ramsey and I had to frost the sugar cookies for Santa.  And... eat a few more.
Then, time to open gifts!  The first present Ramsey grabbed was one from his Great Auntie Nancy.
He giggled and jumped when he opened it.  It was a Yoda backpack!   His favorite Star Wars character (at least right now) is Luke Skywalker.  After he put the backpack on, he ran around the house with it, pretending his was Luke when he was being trained on Dagobah by Master Yoda.  It was quite amusing!
More presents revealed fun things.   There were many times when Ramsey took "play breaks" from opening gifts because he apparently couldn't help himself.
Connor got a [seemingly] year's supply of Starburst! (When they get to be his age, they're harder to buy for!  Candy always works.)
Ramsey made me a homemade ornament (aww!).  It says "Love, Ramsey" (in case there was any question whatsoever!).
Eric had given me a back/body massager.  Ramsey had to try it.  After presents, that's all the kid wanted to do - get massaged!!  He got the biggest kick out of it.
When it was time to put the cookies down for Santa, this little stinker was stealing the cookies!
Then went night night in hopes that Santa would bring him fun things that night.
