Saturday, Santa was in a small town just a few miles South, so Eric, Ramsey, and I made the quick little trek.
There was a bit of a lull, so Ramsey got Santa all to himself for a nice amount of time.
When Santa asked him what he wanted for Christmas, instead of stating an obscure Star Wars related item, he said he wanted a dog! He later clarified it must be a small dog. :-)
I think it's his view that not only would it be fun (crazy!) to have a puppy in the house, but that Riggsy would like a buddy.
When picture time was over, Ramsey went to sit by his buddy Jackson (the photographer's sweet 6th grader whom we met last year on our family photo shoot) and pigged out with a yummy Christmas cookie. It's hard to smile with a mouthful of yumminess.Afterwards, we headed to our church to see their version of the Living Nativity. At 42 years of age, I don't recall ever seeing a showing! Eric was a really good sport about it; it was the perfect day for ice-fishing and he was missing out.
I was a little bummed that pictures turned out so blurry - ugh.
It was truly a beautiful experience; so enlightening and honestly, a bit emotional. I was surprised that "Baby Jesus" was a real little baby (named Weston, a newborn who slept through the entire program so sweetly). I was also surprised that Ramsey loved it as much as he did. Afterwards, he said "I LOVED that movie!" :-) Going to the Living Nativity may become a new family tradition. Who knows, maybe when Ramsey is a bit older, he can partake in it, playing an angel, a shepherd, or another biblical character.
